  • Generali strengthens its role as partner of the Italian art ecosystem, as proved by the initiative “Valore Cultura” since 2016

Generali Italia and ARTE Generali announce the launch in Italy of unique insurance solutions dedicated to the protection of artworks. This way, Generali complements its portfolio through an offer with no peers in the market and no precedent in the history of the Group in Italy.

Jean Gazançon, CEO of ARTE Generali: “We are happy to offer Generali Italia and Italian clients our expertise, with the aim of creating a unique insurance solution thanks to the combination of insurance technical excellence, assistance and advisory services, and innovation. The launch in Italy is a historic moment for ARTE Generali, one year after the start of our business. Italy is not only Generali Group’s largest market, but also the world’s cradle of art, culture and creativity. Against this backdrop, by means of our solutions, we pursue the purpose of fostering the sharing of art as a value for society.”

Generali Italia & ARTE Generali’s offer is currently available to private collectors and exhibitions. The launch of specific solutions for artistic and cultural institutions (museums, foundations and corporate collections) is foreseen for the first months of 2021.

The first solution developed by Generali Italia and ARTE Generali jointly, available to private collectors through Group’s agents, is called “ARTE Generali Private.” This solution offers an all-risk coverage for art collections, plus assistance and concierge services including protection, conservation (restoration, transportation and storage), evaluation and value enhancement. The client can, optionally and depending on his or her needs, add additional “modules” to extend the coverage to include the collection’s surroundings (for example, the household’s content and structure, jewelry owned by the client, third-party liability). ARTE Generali Private’s subscribers can also access, through the ARTE Generali app and with full data security, additional digital services such as the remote evaluation.

Italo Carli has been nominated Head of ARTE Generali Italia. Prior to joining Generali, Italo was Managing Director of a leading player in the art insurance sector in Italy. Italo graduated in electronics engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, he is a member of the Academy of the Italian Family Office Association, and he is a regular speaker at seminars on art protection and art service innovation (“artech”).

Generali’s commitment to art is proved by Valore Cultura, the initiative started in 2016 by Generali Italia to support art and culture in Italy. In 5 years, Valore Cultura promoted 130 activities (exhibitions, theatrical shows, laboratories for young students, etc.) with a total of 5 million visitors and 50,000 students involved.
